Dermal fillers are injectable substances used to restore volume, smooth wrinkles, and enhance facial contours. They are a popular non-surgical option for improving the appearance of the face, hands, and other areas.

People get fillers to enhance their facial volume or iron out wrinkle so that they get a youthful appearance.

Who is the right candidate for fillers?

How is the procedure done?

Fillers are usually done in out patient department. You can get your appointment fixed as per your convenience, and get the job done.  The process begins with cleaning your skin and applying a cream that creates a numbing effect. It might take 30 to 40 mins. The anesthetic numbs the area so the treatment will be more comfortable.

After deciding the area of your concerns and the volume needed we choose the pack. Using a thin needle or canula we would inject the calculated amounts of fillers under your skin. The needle prick would be felt, however, most people don’t experience much pain except for a small sting. This will be repeated for all the areas that were planned. The entire process can take a few minutes or up to 40 mins.

What is the aftercare for the dermal filler procedure?

1. Avoid Touching the Treated Area
Do not rub, massage, or apply pressure to the area for at least 24 hours.
This prevents the filler from moving and reduces the risk of infection.

2. Minimize Physical Activity

Avoid strenuous exercise for 24-48 hours to reduce swelling and bruising.

3. Use Ice Packs

Apply ice or a cold compress to reduce swelling or discomfort.
Wrap the ice pack in a clean cloth; do not apply it directly to the skin.

4. Stay Upright

Avoid lying down for 4-6 hours after treatment to prevent filler migration.

5. Avoid Makeup

Refrain from wearing makeup for at least 24 hours to avoid introducing bacteria.

6. No Alcohol or Blood Thinners

Avoid alcohol and medications like aspirin, ibuprofen, or vitamin E, as they can increase bruising.
